Your Dell laptop came with its battery already installed. Before using the battery to power the computer, you must charge it. Here are some tips about caring the Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop Batteries.

Lithium Ion Power Tools

To charge batteries, leave the E1505 battery pack plugged into an AC power source with the computer turned off until the indication light glows. After that, the batteries will be completely charged and ready to power the computer. Once it is charged for the first time, avoid leaving the computer plugged in and turned off for more than a few hours at a time. Continuing to charge a fully charged cell can damage it.

Lithium Ion Power Tools

The recharging of the dell battery cannot occur when your notebook is using all of the power provided by the AC adapter to run applications, features, and devices. Your computer's Power Saver utility can be used to select a power level setting that reduces the power required for system operation and will allow the cells to recharge.

TECHNICAL NOTE: The of life batteries and charge time may vary depending on the applications, power management settings, and features used.

The life of batteries for Dell Inspiron E1505 may vary considerably from specifications depending on product model, configuration, applications, power management settings and features utilized, as well as the natural performance variations produced by the design of individual components. Published numbers are achieved on select models and configurations tested by the laptop manufacturer at the time of publication. Recharge time varies depending on usage. Batteries may not charge while the computer is consuming full power.

After a period of time, with repeated discharges and recharges, the capacity of the dell batteries gradually decreases, it will lose its ability to perform at maximum capacity and will need to be replaced. A frequently used older cells does not power the computer for as long as a new one, even when both are fully charged. This is normal for all and need to replace a new Dell Inspiron e1505 battery. Remember to use only batteries designed to work with your notebook.

To ensure that the laptop battery maintains its maximum capacity, operate the computer on battery power at least once a month. The Lithium-Ion cell has no memory effect so it is not necessary to let it fully discharge each time. However, fully discharging your it periodically will allow better accuracy of the meter. If the laptop is continuously operated on AC power, either through an AC adapter or a port replicator (if applicable to your system), for an extended period (more than a month), it may fail to retain a charge. This may shorten the life of the cell, and may cause the meter to become inaccurate.

TECHNICAL NOTE: The computer drains the battery faster at low temperatures. Check your remaining charge frequently if you are working in temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

The laptop calculates the remaining battery charge based on your current rate of power use and other factors such as the age of it.

Using Additional Batteries for Your Inspiron E1505 Battery In addition to the main battery, you may also have an optional second one(not included with your computer). If you travel and need to work for many hours without an AC power source, you may purchase a battery module for use in the computer, or carry additional charged battery packs with you.
